Transitioning from the U.S. Military

First, on behalf of all the employees and students of UTI and their families, we thank you for your service to our country.  We fully appreciate that our freedom as a nation results from the service and sacrifice of America's finest.

No matter whether you're currently transitioning to civilian life or if you've recently transitioned out and are disappointed by your opportunities in civilian life, a career as a technician in the transportation industry may be the right move for you.  UTI and industry employers stand ready to make it easy for military personnel to get trained for a rewarding career in a booming industry.

Why this industry may be right for you

We know what you know and what you can accomplish.  The transportation industry places a high value on hiring military personnel because of their maturity, leadership, goal orientation, ability to take direction and their ability to be part of a team.  In return, the industry offers you the following:
  • A true career path in an industry that is an essential part of the American economy.
  • A choice of working in a variety of fields from Automotive Engines to Diesel Repair to Collision Repair & Refinishing to many other areas.
  • Employment opportunities in various locations around the country.
  • While no school can guarantee employment, 87% of UTI graduates find jobs working in the industry.*
  • Jobs in the transportation technician industry can't be out-sourced overseas.
  • Most programs can be completed in 15 months or less.
  • Top technicians in industry dealerships earn in excess of $100,000 each year.

Why UTI may be the right place for you

Many of our instructors are former military, as are many of our students. Visit one of our campuses soon and ask to speak to former military personnel who can talk about the benefits of UTI.  But be careful . . .  a line may form.
