Engine service and repair, brake systems, power and performance and electric vehicle training — you’ll learn all of this and more in UTI’s 51-week Automotive Technology program.7 As a graduate from the Sacramento campus, you’ll earn an associate degree or certificate, depending on your chosen specialty. The skills you learn can prepare you to complete examinations to become ASE certified.

- UTI follows a blended learning model, which includes a mix of online instructor-led training with hands-on application in the lab.18 This type of training is modeled after what’s used in the industry today and can provide more flexibility for students.
UTI’s core programs follow this style, except for Welding, Collision Repair & Refinish Technology, and CNC Machining. These programs follow a hands-on learning model.
- Graduates earn either a diploma or Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) degree, depending on the program and campus, with the possibility of additional credentials.
- No, our curriculum does not require prior experience and is specifically designed to teach the skills necessary to pursue a career as a entry-level technician.
- While not separate classes, math and science aligned with the learning skills are incorporated into the course teachings, along with industry terminology that technicians need to succeed.
