Go-Kart Racing
Located about 6 miles from NASCAR Tech, Go Pro Motorplex is a seven-tenths-mile, 11-turn outdoor go-karting facility where enthusiasts can race their go-karts or rent them for the occasion. The rental go-karts can achieve speeds up to 55 mph, enough to keep the action exciting.
If indoor go-kart racing is your preference, you’re in luck. The Pit Indoor Karting Racing facility is only about 3 miles from campus. In addition to racing, the venue offers an arcade, laser tag, ax throwing and more!
Drag Racing
Wilkesboro Dragway is a quarter-mile track located about 70 miles northwest of NASCAR Tech. This classic drag strip hosts everything from street legal cars to funny cars, motorcycles and more. Fans of drag racing say this is a must-see.
Only about 11 miles east of campus, drag-racing fans will find Mooresville Dragway, which hosts events from March through November. Street legal cars, motorcycles, modified cars and more can all race on their quarter-mile track.
Circle Track Racing
Hickory Motor Speedway is about 42 miles west of the NASCAR Tech campus. This four-tenths-mile, high-banked asphalt track dates back to the 1950s, when it began hosting various racing events. This classic track in the heart of racing country is something all race fans should experience.
About 60 miles northeast of campus is historic Bowman Gray Stadium. This quarter-mile, flat oval is one of stock car racing's most legendary venues, and is referred to as "NASCAR’s longest-running weekly racetrack."
Charlotte Motor Speedway is located about 29 miles southeast of NASCAR Tech and needs no introduction. In addition to hosting NASCAR races, the complex also features a quarter-mile drag strip and a road course.
About 26 miles from campus, dirt track fans will find East Lincoln Speedway. Stock cars, bombers, modified and more can all run on this three-tenths-mile track.
Motocross Racing
Dirt bike fans also have options when attending NASCAR Tech. East Bend Motorsports is about 65 miles north of campus. Practice sessions, motocross races and track rentals are all available for off-road enthusiasts.
