TRAIN AT UNIVERSAL TECHNICAL INSTITUTE IN THE FORT LAUDERDALE AREA
UTI Miramar is a vocational school where students can develop essential skills for the automotive, diesel, welding, HVACR and aviation industries. Our technical training programs, created in collaboration with industry leaders, are delivered in classrooms and labs outfitted with current industry equipment.
CORE PROGRAMS OFFERED
UTI Miramar offers five core programs: Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Welding Technology, HVACR Technician and Airframe & Powerplant.
Automotive Mechanic Training in Miramar
In 51 weeks,7 students enrolled in our Automotive Technology program at UTI Miramar’s trade school can gain hands-on automotive training and learn essential technician skills.18 Graduates from our Miramar auto mechanic school earn an occupational associate degree (OAD).
Diesel Mechanic Training in Miramar
Diesel Technology students at UTI Miramar’s technical school can learn how to diagnose, repair and maintain diesel engines and equipment in just 45 weeks.7 After graduating from our Miramar diesel mechanic school, students earn diplomas.
Welding Training in Miramar
UTI Miramar’s 36-week Welding Technology program allows students to learn in-demand skills in four major arc welding processes that include MIG, TIG, stick and flux-cored. Students earn diplomas after graduating from our Miramar welding school.
Airframe and Powerplant Technician Training in Miramar
The 18-month Airframe & Powerplant Technician program allows students to get trained to diagnose, repair and maintain different aircraft and powerplant components. Graduates are prepared to pursue careers in the aviation industry.79
HVACR Technician Training in Miramar
The nine-month HVACR Technician training program helps prepare students for in-demand careers as HVACR technicians. Students train to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

GET YOUR ASSOCIATE DEGREE
UTI Miramar awards an occupational associate degree (OAD) to its Automotive Technology and Automotive & Diesel Technology graduates. All other graduates receive diplomas.
SPECIALIZED TRAINING AT UTI MIRAMAR
After finishing core classes, automotive students have the option to enroll in specialized BMW FastTrack training that can give you focused skills and training experience on a leading industry brand.

Students attending UTI Miramar's technical school location can enjoy nearby beaches in their free time or take a trip to the Homestead-Miami Speedway, which hosts a variety of racing events.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Those interested in attending UTI do not need to have prior experience. However, prospective students must be at least 16 years of age. A high school diploma or GED diploma is also required. Additional admissions details can be found here.
While math classes are not separate, math that is aligned with learning skills is incorporated into the curriculum alongside industry terminology needed for technicians.
UTI Miramar offers its Automotive and Diesel training in a blended-learning format, which includes a mix of classroom and online instructor-led instruction with hands-on application in the lab.
All other programs follow a learning model that's strictly hands-on instead.
