COURSE OBJECTIVES

Porsche Heritage and Sports Car Servicing and General Repair

Service and maintenance requirements for current Porsche sports cars.

Electrical Systems Diagnosis and Repair

Porsche electrical component location, diagnostic testing strategies, and electrical circuitry repair.

Panamera Servicing and General Repair

Service and maintenance requirements for the Panamera.

Cayenne & Panamera V-6 and V-8 Engines

Repair and overhaul procedures on V-6 and V-8.

Carrera/Boxster/Cayman Pre-DFI Engines

Repair and overhaul procedures on boxer (flat) 6-cylinder electronic fuel-injected engines (non-direct fuel injected).

Carrera/Boxster/Cayman DFI Engines

Repair and overhaul procedures on boxer (flat) 6-cylinder direct fuel-injected engines (DFI).

Engine Management Systems

Porsche engine management systems, component function and location.

Diesel DME

Porsche diesel engine technology.

Chassis, Steering, Brakes and Alignment

Service and repair of Porsche chassis, steering and braking systems.

Soft Roof and Body Systems

Service and repair of the "soft roof" systems, and body adjustments.

Hard Roof and Body Systems

Service and repair of doors/windows/sun roofs/spoilers.

Climate Control Systems

Diagnosis and repair of Porsche heating, ventilation and A/C systems.

Cayenne Servicing and General Repair

Service and maintenance requirements for the Cayenne

MANUFACTURER PAID

UTI offers Porsche’s PTAP training at the company’s PCNA training centers in Atlanta, GA; Easton, PA; and Eastvale, CA. PTAP classes are limited to just 12 students with one instructor—one of the best student-teacher ratios in the industry. Porsche directly supports, equips and invests in the UTI PTAP program, allowing students to receive training on all of Porsche’s world-class automobiles, tools and technologies, including the 911, Boxster, Panamera, Cayman and Cayenne.

CREDENTIALS

PTAP graduates have the ability to achieve Bronze certification in the first year on the job.1

A select group of qualified students is chosen for this 23-week training program. As a student of PTAP, you’ll get hands-on at an actual Porsche mechanic school. These centers mirror real-world working shops so you’ll practice with the same tools and equipment that dealership technicians use on the job every day.

Prearranged jobs help students support themselves while in the program.

HOUSING

PTAP provides a fully furnished apartment, with students paying only a monthly maintenance fee to cover utilities, general maintenance, and wear and tear.

HOW TO QUALIFY FOR PTAP

PTAP gives you the extensive Porsche-specific training that managers are looking for to fill their hiring needs. See what you need to qualify:

Core Program Training
Minimum high school graduate or GED. Completion of UTI's Automotive Technology curriculum or a post-secondary automotive program certified by the ASE Education Foundation.

Grade Point Average
Achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher in the Automotive Technology Program.

Driving Record
Valid driver’s license. No DUI convictions. No reckless driving convictions. No more than two moving violations in the past three years.

Attendance
Achieve a 95% or higher attendance rate at a post-secondary automotive program.

Entrance Exam Requirements
Required mechanical aptitude test.
