YOUR FIRST DAY AT UTI
Your first day at Universal Technical Institute marks the start of an exciting, new journey. At UTI, we know this day comes with a lot of emotions. You’ll probably be both excited and nervous!
No matter what you might be feeling, know that we’re here to help. Our team is committed to ensuring your time at UTI is an experience you will cherish forever.
STUDENT ORIENTATION
All students are required to attend new student orientation before their first day of class. The purpose of orientation is to welcome students, give them an introduction to UTI and to complete the registration process. At orientation, you’ll have the opportunity to meet our staff from various departments and ask any questions you might have.
You’ll receive a lot of information on this day — but don’t panic! We’ll work closely with you to ensure you feel confident and excited to start your training.
KICK OFF YOUR TRAINING FOR AN EXCITING CAREER
From the moment you set foot in your first class at UTI, you’ll be learning in-demand skills that today’s transportation industry and skilled trades require. Through our focused and accelerated programs, you’ll have the opportunity to train with the same tools and technology used by technicians in the field. Our classroom and lab environments provide opportunities for hands-on learning and application, giving you the preparation you need to pursue an exciting career.1
LEARN FROM PASSIONATE INSTRUCTORS WHO CARE
On the first day of class, you’ll meet the instructors who will play an important role in your student experience. Our instructors act as mentors to students as they take the time to get to know you, your story and your goals for the future.
As a UTI student, you’ll learn more than just what’s in the books. You’ll gain valuable knowledge and insight into what it takes to succeed as a technician in today’s world. Your instructors will be there to provide you with the training, encouragement and guidance you need to get to where you want to be.
“I remember being 10, 11 years in the field, thinking back to instructors I had when I was a student. I wanted to be on the other side of that, giving back, putting my stamp on the new generation of technicians. Once I started teaching more and more students and interacting with them in the lab, it’s really one of the greatest jobs I could ever have.”
