ABOUT THE PROGRAM
In the 51-week Marine Technician Specialist training program, you’ll dive into key aspects of the marine industry.7 Students complete a series of five, three-week manufacturer-specific courses to learn the technology of top manufacturers, giving you a wide variety of skills you can take with you as you pursue a career in the field.
Upon graduation, you earn a diploma and are prepared for a career as an entry-level marine technician. Students may also choose our optional 60-week occupational associate degree (OAD) granting program which includes nine weeks (three courses) of training from the UTI Diesel Technology program!
MARINE MECHANIC DEGREES AND CERTIFICATIONS IN ORLANDO, FL
Students who take the 51-week program earn a diploma, while students who take the 60-week program with additional diesel courses, earn a OAD. Students also earn credentials or progress toward manufacturer-specific credentials that may set them apart from other entry-level candidates.

No, our curriculum does not require prior experience and is specifically designed to teach the skills necessary to pursue a role as a entry-level technician after graduation.
UTI follows a blended learning model, which includes a mix of online instructor-led training with hands-on application in the lab.18 This type of training is modeled after what’s used in the industry today and can provide more flexibility for students.
UTI’s core programs follow this style, except for Welding, Collision Repair & Refinish Technology, and CNC Machining. These programs follow a hands-on learning model.
