UTI Orlando is about 36 miles south of Sanford. Our Automotive and Diesel programs follow a blended learning model led by industry professionals. Students spend part of their time on online instruction and the other part putting their knowledge into action in our state-of-the-industry labs.

The hands-on labs at our Orlando, FL, trade school are equipped with industry-standard tools, technology, vehicles and engines for students to train with. In less than one year,⁷ students can graduate with a foundation of knowledge employers often look for in entry-level candidates.¹

The Auto and Diesel programs at UTI Orlando are accredited by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation, meaning all instructors are ASE certified and courses teach material that helps prepare students to test for ASE certification. Program graduates are prepared to complete ASE examinations and can substitute their training for one year of the two years of work experience required for ASE certification.

UTI’s Orlando Automotive technical school offers a 51-week program⁷ that teaches students how to diagnose, repair and maintain various automobile makes and models through courses on engines, powertrains, braking systems and more. Graduates earn an occupational associate degree (OAD) and can begin pursuing entry-level roles as auto techs, service writers, smog inspectors or parts associates.⁷⁷

The 45-week Orlando Diesel technical school program⁷ provides students with the fundamentals of diesel engine service and repair through courses on electrical applications, hydraulics, brakes, engine fuel systems, preventive maintenance and more! Graduates earn diplomas and are prepared to pursue entry-level diesel tech careers.

UTI’s trade school in Orlando is about a 40-minute commute from Sanford, depending on traffic conditions. To get to UTI Orlando, follow these directions (this route requires tolls):

1. Get on I-4 West in Lake Mary from FL-46 West (7.8 miles)
1. Drive west on West 11th Street toward Myrtle Avenue (0.2 miles)
2. Turn right onto South French Avenue (0.6 miles)
3. Use the left two lanes to turn left onto FL-46 West/West First Street (4 miles)
4. Use the right lane to take the I-4 West ramp to Orlando (1.1 miles)
5. Keep left at the fork to continue toward I-4 West (0.4 miles)
6. Keep left at the fork to continue toward I-4 West (0.8 miles)
7. Follow the signs for I-4 West/Orlando/Tampa and merge onto I-4 West (0.7 miles)
2. Continue on I-4 West. Take I-4 Express to Consulate Drive in Orange County. Take Exit 255 from Florida’s Turnpike (27.4 miles)
1. Merge onto I-4 West (4.8 miles)
2. Keep left at the fork to continue on I-4 Express (6.2 miles)
3. Keep left at the fork to stay on I-4 Express (9.7 miles)
4. Keep left at the fork to stay on I-4 Express (2.3 miles)
5. Take the exit on the left toward Miami (1 mile)
6. Merge onto Florida’s Turnpike (3.1 miles)
7. Take Exit 255 for Consulate Drive (0.3 miles)
